Solar Heat for Industrial Processes

In regions of high solar radiation, solar heat for industrial processes offers many advantages to:

  • Improve the carbon footprint of your production
  • Lower energy costs and improve competitiveness
  • Significantly reduce the use costly fossil fuel supplies
  • Show you care for the future of humanity

Rackam’s proven concentrated solar heat technology produces heat from 65°C to 300°C according to your needs.

65°C to 95°C - Boiling Water

Rackam’s concentrated solar technology easily produces boiling water.  Would it be for rooftop or ground-based installations, our collectors work in direct heating mode, where the solar heated water runs directly into the process, or can pass through a heat exchanger to adapt to your specific needs.

For example, the University of Sherbrooke’s main campus uses Rackam solar heaters to produce boiling water for their needs (ref. to C2MI news release).  You may follow their hot water production in real time on our real time monitoring page.

95°C to 155°C - Pressurized Water for Heating Loops

When transformation processes require heat above 100°C, Rackam solar concentrators are coupled with a shell & tube heat exchanger.  For such applications, Rackam has designed a complete set of prepackaged heat transfer modules going from 50KW to 2 MW in sizes.

Shell & tube heat transfer modules are used either with our rooftop or ground-based collectors.  They are equipped with an integrated control system and automated valves to maximize solar heat production.

155°C to 260°C - Steam Generation

Many transformation plants use large steam networks to power their processes. Rackam can generate saturated steam at temperatures up to 155°C with rooftop installations and up to 260°C with ground-based installations. Even you use higher temperatures, Rackam’s solar heat technology can be used as a first stage pre-heating system.

Rackam steam generators are available in power going from 500 kW to 5 MW and are mounted on fully equipped steam generating modules.
